Here's your opportunity to make the original version of the popular Sew Together Bag which boasts having seven compartments, three of which are zipped. There is a long zipper closure, which also serves as a handle. You will think of many ways to use this multi-purpose bag.
$17 kit required (includes Sew Together Bag Pattern by SewDemented, three 9" zippers, one 18" zipper - or a larger one can be cut down to size)
Fabric Required - Three Choices:
We can discuss these before you choose your fabrics, if you wish.
1. Follow directions for materials needed on pattern which are:
1 Fat Quarter (18" by 22") for front panel
1 Fat Quarter for bindings
1/2 yard by width of fabric for linings
1/3 yard fpr width of fabric for pockets
1/2 yard of fusible interfacing (shape flex) for linings and side panels
1 18" by 22" fusible fleece or batting if quilting the front panel
* On the sample, I only used fusible fleece for interfacings... 1 yard needed.
2. To use a minimum amount of fabric, all pieces can be cut out of 4 fat quarters.
Plus 18" or 1/2 yard of fusible fleece or a combination of fusible fleece and shape flex as described in #1 above.
3. On the sample, I used eight fat quarters because I wanted an array of fabrics for the bag.
1/2 yard of fusible fleece - this amount worked for all the interfacings needed.
I used the fusible fleece because it makes it more stable.
